Man arrested for stealing flowers from Ozzy Osbourne memorial

A 45-year-old man has been arrested in Birmingham, UK, for allegedly stealing flowers from the memorial site of legendary rock icon Ozzy Osbourne, per faroutmagazine.co.uk. The Black Sabbath frontman passed away on July 22nd, with his family confirming his death with a statement that expressed “more sadness than mere words can convey.”

Since his passing, thousands of fans have visited Birmingham to pay their respects to the co-founder of heavy metal. A private funeral was held on July 31st, during which fans lined the streets with floral tributes. However, the outpouring of grief was marred by an act of alleged theft.

West Midlands Police were alerted to flowers being taken from the memorial on Bond Street. Following the report, officers arrested Parviz Jafari on August 2nd and charged him with theft. He is scheduled to appear in court on September 3rd.

In a move to preserve the fan tributes, Central Bid Birmingham has taken possession of the memorial flowers. They are set to be sent to Osbourne’s family, though the date of delivery has not yet been confirmed.

Ozzy Osbourne’s death certificate listed the cause of death as a heart attack, with contributing factors including coronary heart disease and Parkinson’s. His legacy as one of music’s most influential and iconic voices continues to be celebrated by fans worldwide.
