Making An Entertainment Statement With #TEFFEST2019

Entertainment is pivotal in how culture is expressed and plays an influential role in how we engage audiences today.

Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde understands this concept completely and as the convener of the inaugural edition of Teffest 2019 entertainment festival was focused on exploring the concept of monetising all forms of it.

The opening session was a keynote/training hybrid by Craig Fenton, Strategy lead for Google’s business in UK and Ireland that fired up the audience with a statistics-based lecture on the most influential YouTubers from Nigeria.

Next, was the Young Entertainment Conference that featured a panel session with Ex-BB Naija housemate Bisola Aiyeola, music producer Captain E, Maleek Afegbua CEO of sleek media and Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo. The session unpacked the road to finding the big break and what creatives should be doing to get them there faster.

Teffest2019 also had a veteran session that addressed the issues affecting the established creatives in the industry and how to manage finances, position for grants and leave a lasting legacy. It featured names like Ali Baba, Efe Omoregie, the director of LIRS and was hosted by TV host, Frank Edoho.

The conference segment rounded up with a pitch session from emerging startups that saw an interesting cross section of business ideas presented before a group of potential investors.

Teffest 2019 ended in style with a silent disco party that featured three DJs in a jam session that got everyone dancing. Without a doubt, the event has positioned itself as the most important entertainment event of the year.
