Laila! has released the music video for her new self-produced single, “Anything Could Happen, ” per vibe.com. Co-directed alongside Daniel Desnoyers, the visual features a compilation of digital camera snapshots and camcorder footage recorded across four months of travel with the Brooklyn singer-songwriter and producer’s
friends and partner.
The single combines soft string synthesizers, break beats and EDM rhythms. The accompanying video reflects the artist’s signature analog aesthetic–incorporating elements of point-and-shoot cameras, CDs and vintage media–while documenting her personal life and public romance.
“Anything Could Happen” follows her previous release, “Miss Mango, ” which marked her first experience directing session musicians in studio recorded tracks. The 20-year-old musician stated that her recent creative output reflects an era of personal introspection and artistic growth following her critically acclaimed debut album, Gap Year!.
