The 2024 edition of Lagos Gallery Weekend kicks off with a vibrant display of artistic talent, showcasing the city’s rich tapestry of cultural diversity. Spanning over two days from March 9th to 10th, the event brings together 11 prestigious galleries across Victoria Island, Ikoyi and Lekki Phase 1.
An email from Omenka Gallery located at 24 Modupe Alakija, Ikoyi, one of the participating galleries says it is pleased to be part of the 2024 edition of Lagos Gallery Weekend.
Omenka Gallery has curated a selection of works by acclaimed artists such as Wallace Ejoh, Segun Aiyesan and Olufemi Oyewole.
Visitors will be treated to a range of exhibitions, each offering a unique perspective on contemporary art in Nigeria. From Affinity Gallery to Tiwani Contemporary, the participating galleries present a diverse array of artworks, spanning various mediums and styles.
According to a statement, the weekend is a celebration of Lagos’ thriving art scene and the talented artists who call this city home, an opportunity to showcase the incredible creativity and innovation that define Nigerian art.
In addition to the exhibitions, the weekend features exclusive events and activities, providing guests with an immersive experience into Lagos’ esteemed gallery landscape. From insightful panel discussions to interactive workshops, attendees have the chance to engage with artists and curators, gaining a deeper understanding of the local art scene.
The participating galleries are: Affinity Gallery, AMG Projects, Kó, O’DA Art, Omenka Gallery, Sachs Gallery and Soto Gallery.
Others are:The Art Pantheon Gallery, Tiwani Contemporary, Wunika Mukan Gallery and Yenwa.
