Kemuel is once again in the limelight with his latest single, “Polo.” After a year filled with critical acclaim and successful collaborations, says a statement, the emerging Nigerian artiste’s musical journey continues to enthrall audiences globally.
In 2023, Kemuel gained recognition from industry giants, including Spinall and Olamide, who entrusted him with creative control over “Bunda,” a standout track from Spinall’s sixth album, Top Boy. Building on this momentum, Kemuel released “Alone” last year, followed by a fruitful collaboration with producer Wondah on “Stay” in 2024.
“Polo,” the artiste’s first single of the year, builds toward his sophomore project, radiating positivity and purpose, with infectious melodies and heartfelt lyrics inviting listeners to hit the replay button.
Reflecting on the inspiration behind the song, Kemuel explains, “It’s about a girl whom everyone considers eccentric, but I see her as beautifully misunderstood.”

Kemuel recalls, “I made it on a Thursday night, I didn’t even know what the song would be about until the first line hit me, and it was real life so it was easy to write and compose. My producer Wondah and I took a weird approach with the beat and melodies, but we ended up creating a gem, and I can’t wait to share it with the world. This one is for beautiful misunderstood women.”
With playful lines like “My chikala she be my lolo/I no fit let you go no, no/Wetin you put for your ogbono/Oh-oh-oh,” Kemuel’s charm shines through, making “Polo” an irresistible sing-along experience.
Hailing from the vibrant southern state of Rivers, Kemuel epitomises excellence. His musical journey commenced at age 13 when he joined the church choir, honing his skills on piano, bass guitar, and drums, and contributing to the choir’s harmonious sound. His passion for art led him to pursue a degree in Fine Art and Design from the University of Port Harcourt.
As “Polo” hits the airwaves, Kemuel’s fans eagerly anticipate his next moves, eagerly awaiting the release of his sophomore project.
