Kate Winslet says she “couldn’t stop crying” when she reunited with Leonardo DiCaprio recently after three years apart.
The actors, according to NME, who have known each other since filming 1997’s Titanic in their early 20s, met once again in Los Angeles for the first time since the Coronavirus pandemic began.
Speaking about the reunion to The Guardian, Winslet said: “I couldn’t stop crying. I’ve known him for half my life! It’s not as if I’ve found myself in New York or he’s been in London and there’s been a chance to have dinner or grab a coffee and catch-up.
“We haven’t been able to leave our countries. Like so many friendships globally, we’ve missed each other because of COVID. He’s my friend, my really close friend. We’re bonded for life.”
Following Titanic, Winslet and DiCaprio starred together in 2008’s Revolutionary Road, portraying a troubled married couple.
Earlier this year, Winslet starred in the HBO crime drama Mare of Easttown as detective sergeant Mare Sheehan.
