Jurors reach verdict in Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs trial after 7 weeks of testimony

Sean “Diddy” Combs has been found guilty of transportation to engage in prostitution following a high-profile, seven-week trial in New York, per sky.com. The verdict, delivered today, sees the 55-year-old artiste cleared of the more severe charges of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy, which carried a potential life sentence.

Combs now faces up to 20 years in prison for the prostitution conviction, which stems from accusations of transporting his former long-term partner, singer and model Cassie Ventura, another former girlfriend, Jane*, and male sex workers for prostitution. Jurors were presented with evidence including flight details, hotel bookings, and even private video footage of “freak off” sex sessions.

Prosecutors had accused Combs of abusing and coercing three alleged victims and committing other crimes including kidnapping, arson, and blackmail. While the defense conceded Combs could be violent and had a bad temper, they maintained all sexual acts were consensual.

The verdict marks a significant development in the legal battles surrounding Combs, which intensified after a bombshell lawsuit filed by Cassie Ventura in November 2023 and subsequent hotel security footage airing in 2024. Despite the conviction, Combs still faces several civil lawsuits.
