Award-winning author, Jumoke Verissimo, gas made her debut as a children’s author with Grandma and the Moon’s Hidden Secret.
The book, according to a statement byher publisher, Cassava Republic Press, was originally written in Yoruba and translated to English.
Grandma and the Moon’s Hidden Secret, the statement adds, makes a good starting point for early language learners.
The book is now available for order in both Yoruba and English.
Jumoke Verissimo is a Nigerian poet and writer whose critically-acclaimed first book, I Am Memory, has won some literary awards in Nigeria. The writer who currently lives in Canada with her daughter, where she is studying for a PhD, has poetry that is in translation in Italian, Norwegian, French, Japanese, Chinese and Macedonian.
