Julianne Moore to receive Golden Icon Award at Zurich Film Festival

Julianne Moore is set to receive the prestigious Golden Icon Award at the 22nd Zurich Film Festival, where she will be joined by filmmaker Jesse Eisenberg to present their latest project, per hollywoodreporter.com.

Moore will accept the lifetime achievement accolade alongside Eisenberg, who directed her in the musical-comedy feature The Debut. The film co-stars Paul Giamatti and follows a shy housewife who transforms into a zealous method actor at a community theatre.

Festival CEO Christian Jungen praised Moore’s versatility and intense portrayals across a career spanning more than 30 years, highlighting her performance in The Debut as a brilliant tribute to the acting profession. Moore’s extensive credits include an Oscar win for Still Alice, alongside acclaimed roles in The Hours, The Kids Are All Right, and upcoming projects such as Pedro Almodóvar’s The Room Next Door.

Past recipients of the festival’s highest honor include Kate Winslet, Sylvester Stallone, and Sharon Stone. The 22nd Zurich Film Festival runs Sep. 24-Oct. 4.
