Jonathan Majors injured on film set as crew strike over safety concerns

Jonathan Majors and co-star JC Kilcoyne were injured after falling through a window on the set of their new action film, currently titled “Knuckles,” per consequence.net.

The incident, which occurred during a production backed by The Daily Wire and Bonfire Legend, has reportedly served as the catalyst for a strike by the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) over safety standards.

Footage emerged on April 3 showing the two actors stumbling backwards through a pane of tempered glass. The pair fell approximately 1.8 metres to the ground after leaning against a window that had been prepared for a later stunt not involving the cast. While Majors’ condition was not detailed, Kilcoyne required stitches for hand injuries. A spokesperson for Kilcoyne stated the actor is recovering and felt well cared for by the production team.

The accident follows five weeks of escalating tension between the union and producers. IATSE initially sought a contract to secure health and pension contributions, but the focus shifted to physical safety following several reported mishaps. Beyond the window fall, crew members alleged that props had fallen on staff and a rigged tree branch had struck a set medic.

In response to the safety allegations and the subsequent walkout on 26 March, the film’s producers issued a terse rebuttal. Speaking to Deadline, the production team denied the claims of negligence and stated they “don’t negotiate with communists.”

The production marks a significant venture for Ben Shapiro’s The Daily Wire, which has increasingly pivoted into scripted entertainment. However, the strike highlights the ongoing friction between non-union independent productions and established industry labour organisations over workplace protocols.
