John Wick spinoff show adds more stars

John Wick prequel series The Continental has boosted its ranks with five new faces, Digital Spy reports.

According to the report, joining Mel Gibson’s Cormac, Colin Woodell’s Winston Scott and Peter Greene’s Uncle Charlie, it’s been confirmed via ComicBook that Katie McGrath (Supergirl), Ray McKinnon (Deadwood), Adam Shapiro (Sense8), Mark Musashi (Fear the Walking Dead) and Marina Mazepa (Malignant) will all walk this assassin’s playground.

McGrath replaces Asia Kate Dillon as The Adjudicator – the show is set 40 years prior to the events of John Wick afterall – while Shapiro and McKinnon take on the roles of Lemmy and Jenkins.

Meanwhile, Musashi and Mazepa have signed on to play High Table sharpshooters Hansel and Gretel – but don’t expect any gingerbread houses.

As for what fans can expect from The Continental, a synopsis teases how it’ll “explore the origin behind the hotel-for-assassins, which increasingly has become the centrepiece of the John Wick universe.

“This will be accomplished through the eyes and actions of a young Winston Scott, who is dragged into the hellscape of a 1975 New York City to face a past he thought he’d left behind. Winston charts a deadly course through New York’s mysterious underworld in a harrowing attempt to seize the iconic hotel, which serves as the meeting point for the world’s most dangerous criminals.”
