Harrison Ford, the iconic Hollywood actor, has no plans to retire from acting despite his age. The 80-year-old actor wants to keep working because it helps him to feel “useful” and he claims he doesn’t “do well” when he hasn’t got filming on the horizon.
Speaking to CNN host Chris Wallace, he said when asked about the possibility of retirement: “I don’t do well when I don’t have work. I love to work. I love to feel useful. It’s my jones. I want to be helpful”.
Although Ford is turning 81 next month and is retiring from playing Indiana Jones after the upcoming “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny,” he is not leaving Hollywood behind. When asked if it’s bittersweet saying goodbye to Indiana Jones, Ford answered: “No. It’s time for me to grow up”. He explained that he wanted the last Indiana Jones movie to be about age because he thinks it rounds out the story that they’ve told and they brought it to the right place.
He has his pick of roles at this point when he is reflecting on his career and looking towards other roles he’s interested in.
It’s clear that Harrison Ford is not ready to retire anytime soon and will continue to grace the silver screen with his talent and charisma.
