Halsey is set to make her mark in television writing with an intriguing new dark comedy series titled “Bloodlust”, currently in development at Amazon Prime Video, per themusic.com.au.
The singer-songwriter, known for hit tracks like “Without Me” and critically acclaimed albums, will serve as the project’s creator, writer and executive producer. Despite her acting experience in films like A Star Is Born, Halsey is not slated to star in this upcoming series.
Joining Halsey’s creative venture is acclaimed director Ti West, renowned for his work on the X film series, who will direct and executive produce the project. West’s involvement adds significant creative weight to the series, alongside executive producers Mark Friedman of Severance fame and Halsey’s manager, Anthony Li.
While plot details remain shrouded in mystery, the collaboration between Halsey and West promises an exciting and potentially edgy narrative. Amazon MGM Studios will be responsible for producing the series, signaling substantial industry backing.
This television project arrives on the heels of Halsey’s recent musical endeavours, including her fifth album The Great Impersonator, released in October. The album showcased her versatility by exploring musical identities across different decades and genres.
Halsey’s transition into screenwriting represents another milestone in her continuously evolving artistic career. Having already demonstrated prowess in music, acting and visual storytelling, the artist is now expanding her creative repertoire into television writing.
Industry observers and fans alike are eagerly anticipating more details about “Bloodlust” and what unique perspective Halsey will bring to the dark comedy genre.
