Evangeline Lilly has revealed she is suffering from permanent brain damage following a severe fall last year, per rollingstone.com.
The Lost and Ant-Man star shared the results of recent medical scans with fans on Friday, confirming the extent of the Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) she sustained in May 2025. Lilly fainted and fell face-first onto a boulder, an incident she attributed to a lifelong tendency to “black out.”

“Verdict’s in… I do have brain damage from my TBI,” the actress wrote. While she admitted it was “discomforting” to face the uphill battle of reversing the damage, she noted a sense of relief in knowing her cognitive decline wasn’t merely a symptom of peri-menopause.
In an emotional video update, Lilly explained that scans showed “almost every area” of her brain is currently functioning at a decreased capacity.
“My job is to get to the bottom of that with doctors and then embark on the hard work of fixing it,” she said.
Despite the diagnosis, Lilly expressed a desire to find peace in the situation, noting that her forced “slow down” led to a more restful end to 2025. Her Ant-Man co-star, Michelle Pfeiffer, was among the first to offer support, commenting: “You are a warrior. Nothing—not even this—will defeat you, my friend.”
Lilly, who previously announced her departure from acting following the injury, remains focused on her recovery heading into 2026.
