A theatrical adaptation of Bobo Omotayo’s bestselling satirical book, London Life, Lagos Living, is set to premiere in Lagos, featuring a star-studded cast and exploring contemporary themes of migration and identity.
Titled “London Life, Lagos Living: The Next Chapter,” the production will run from August 28 to 30 at the Black Diamond Hotel in Victoria Island.
Directed by Kenneth Uphopho, the staging combines interwoven monologues, movement and original music. The cast features prominent actors including Kate Henshaw, Linda Ejiofor-Suleiman, Gideon Okeke, Chioma “Chigul” Omeruah, Olarotimi Fakunle and Sola Roberts.
Produced by Ego Boyo and presented by Pawstudios Africa, the adaptation builds upon the original 2011 book, which chronicles the cultural contradictions of Nigerians navigating life between London and Lagos. Organisers state that the new staging shifts its focus to contemporary migration trends, examining the experiences of citizens who have relocated abroad and those returning home.
Tickets are already on sale and performances are scheduled for Friday evening, with double screenings on Saturday and Sunday at 4pm and 7pm.
