“Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” to hit theatres in December

Aquaman fans can now mark  their calendars as the highly anticipated sequel to the 2018 hit movie is set to hit theatres on December 20, 2023, according to recent reports. The movie, titled “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,” is directed by James Wan and stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry / Aquaman, alongside Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Temuera Morrison, and Nicole Kidman.

Originally slated for a December 25, 2023 release, the movie was moved up five days to December 20, 2023, by DC Studios. The film had previously been set for March 17, 2023, after having been pushed back from December 21, 2022. The delays follow The Rock announcing that Black Adam is being moved from July to October 2022.

The plot of the movie is being kept under wraps at the moment, but it is expected to explore more of the underwater world of Atlantis and introduce new characters. The costumes from Aquaman 2 were recently featured at licensing con; you can get a detailed look at Aquaman and Black Manta’s looks in the upcoming film.

Filming wrapped on Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom back in January, but with the new release date, there’s no word yet on when we’ll see a trailer for the upcoming sequel. Fans will have to wait a little longer to see what’s in store for Arthur Curry and his underwater kingdom.
