Amy Childs wins award for her BBC documentary on cosmetic surgery ‘addiction’

The Only Way Is Essex star Amy Childs has won an award for her BBC documentary on her ‘addiction’ to cosmetic surgery.

The 31-year-old, who recently introduced her new man Billy Delbosq to her pals as they discussed wedding plans, thanked everyone who voted for the BBC Three documentary.

OK reports that the Mum-of-two, who shares daughter Polly, four, with her builder ex Bradley Wright, and son Ritchie Jnr, who she shares with businessman Ritchie, won the award in the ‘best school age children’s programme’ category at the Royal Television Society awards.

Amy shared the announcement with her 754,000 Instagram fans and penned: “Waking up this morning winning this award first of all thank you to @bbc for airing my Cosmetic surgery documentary and speaking to these young girls about the

danger of Surgery, yes I was addicted at a very young age, it’s only I woke up one day and thought why?

“Why do I want to look a certain way, I was addicted! However years on I am so happy, not having lip and fillers for years now I can say I am so happy the way I look now …

“So yes everyone Iv been there won the award last night @royaltelevisionsociety I’m sorry I couldn’t be there but today I am celebrating on the award.. @katiethisleton i couldn’t of done this documentary without you, thank you for everyone that voted..”

Amy went under the knife for the first time at the age of 18 when she had a breast augmentation.

Speaking to Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford on This Morning last year, Amy said: “I regret it because I got addicted and I thought I looked well.

“I looked in the mirror and it was only when my mum and dad said to me, ‘you look like a freak Amy’ [that it clicked] and I cried.”
