Indie Pop singer-songwriter Aisé Maryah has released her second official single “Wish”, a follow up on the success of her debut.
The artiste from Maiduguri, Borno State, debuted in the Nigerian music industry on 1st July 2021 with “Fool For U” and says to build on the reception she received, is here with “Wish”, a nearly three-minute-long Afro-Soul romantic ballad record intertwined with alternative pop sound.
The song fantasising for the presence and affection of a significant other, is produced by Drizzle, an emerging music producer from Bauchi State.
“The most interesting thing about her is the region she hails from: the North-Eastern part of Nigeria is largely made of conservative Muslims and not many would expect a wide-eyed girl from that axis to venture into secular music,” writes Jerry Chiemke, the Editor-In-Chief, Afrocritik in his review of Aisé Maryah’s debut. He went ahead and described Aisé Maryah as “The Talented Teenager Hoping To Carve a Niche as a Nigerian Indie Pop Artiste.”
