Adele has confirmed she will be taking an extended break from performing following the completion of her upcoming Las Vegas residency much to the dismay of her devoted fanbase, per deadline.com.
As the multi-Grammy winner wrapped up her Munich concert series on Saturday, Adele shared the bittersweet news with concertgoers. “But after that, I will not see you for an incredibly long time, and I will hold you dear in my heart,” she said in a TikTok clip.
Adele’s “Weekends with Adele” Vegas residency is set to resume on October 25th and run through November 23rd. Two years into the ongoing shows, the 34-year-old singer revealed in July that she plans to take an extended hiatus after the upcoming run.
“I don’t have any plans for new music at all,” Adele told Germany’s ZDF. “I want a big break after this and I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while.”
Adele, who released her last album 30 in 2021, has not indicated when or if she will return to the stage. Fans will have to savor her upcoming Vegas performances, as the celebrated artist steps away from the spotlight for the foreseeable future.
