Jewel Owusu will release her debut album, ecosystem, on November 11, followed by her first headline tour of Australia, with dates in Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Perth, per beat.com.au.
The album is the Filipino-Ghanaian artist and producer’s first full-length release.
Owusu built it around the idea of a natural system in which nothing stands alone, using the concept to explore love, identity, mental health and belonging in a life lived largely through screens.
The tour opens at Revolver Bandroom in Melbourne on November 12. She then plays 38 Berwick in Brisbane on November 14, Low 302 in Sydney on November 19 and Wyola in Perth on November 21. Tickets are on sale now.
Before the headline run, Owusu will support SAFIA on the band’s Internal 10 Year Anniversary Tour. She plays The Tivoli in Brisbane on October 15, Liberty Hall in Sydney on October 16 and Metropolis in Fremantle on October 23.
Her September single, “don’t feel like myself,” sets the tone for the album. It deals with hitting a mental low point and failing to recognise oneself. Tracks from “ecosystem” have already passed 200,000 streams ahead of release.
The announcement follows a busy 2026 for Owusu, which included a Palais Theatre headline show through Live Nation’s NEXT ON program, a main stage slot at Beyond The Valley, and sets at Pitch Music & Arts and St Kilda Festival. She has also played overseas dates and club shows.
Born in Hong Kong, raised in New Zealand and now based in Melbourne, Owusu makes alternative electronic indie pop. “ecosystem” follows her sophomore EP, “the end of everything,” which moved her from support slots to headline rooms.
