“Once Upon an Elephant” takes the stage at Lagos Fringe Festival 2025

The Lagos Fringe Festival 2025 spotlight will shine on “Once Upon an Elephant,” a compelling stage play written by Bosede Ademilua-Afolayan and directed by Dapo Bruce.

“Once Upon an Elephant” is performed by students of Peaklane College International who are members of Peaklane Drama Troupe,where greenhorns are taught the art of live performances.

Set to be performed at the historic Amphitheatre within Freedom Park, this production is a must-see for audiences interested in powerful dramatic works.

The play is a dramatic performance based on a text currently included in the secondary school curriculum, focusing on a significant political theme.

Tickets for “Once Upon an Elephant,” which will take place on November 22 by 4pm at Amphitheatre, Freedom Park, Lagos, are affordably priced, offering options for both general audiences and students.

This marks a new journey for Dapo Bruce at the festival, following last year’s performance of “Let Me Die Alone.”

The Lagos Fringe Festival 2025, renowned as Africa’s largest open-access multidisciplinary arts festival, is set to transform Freedom Park, Lagos, into a vibrant creative hub from November 18th to 23rd, 2025.

Organised by Pawstudios Africa, the 8th edition of the festival adopts the theme “Hybrid Identities: Merging Boundaries,” offering a dynamic program that spans far beyond the stage, including the Film Showcase, the Ideas-Xchange forum, visual art exhibitions, and a lively creative marketplace.

The festival serves as a crucial platform for both established and emerging artistes, fostering professional growth and celebrating Africa’s diverse creative voice.

While the festival is an open-access event, prospective attendees should note that Free General Entry (Compulsory Registration): Entry to the festival grounds and many events is free, but all attendees must complete the free registration form.

Meanwhile, for Paid Theatre Access attendees get access to see productions like “Once Upon an Elephant” and other paid shows, attendees must purchase an individual ticket or a Festival Pass. Regular Festival Pass: Grants entry into all paid theatre shows. Executive Festival Pass: Includes theatre access, plus entry into exclusive events and merchandise.
