Swizz Beatz has finally addressed the persistent divorce rumours swirling around his marriage to superstar Alicia Keys after weeks of social media speculation, per vibe.com. The couple, who celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary, became the subject of online gossip suggesting a split was imminent.
The music producer took to the comments section of a The Shade Room post—a repost of a video of him and Keys dancing happily on their anniversary vacation. In a direct and playful message, he quipped, “Everybody knew we was Divorced but us. We found out on our 15yr anniversary vacation.”
The 46-year-old continued by calling out the nature of the gossip itself.
“People rather believe fake gossip instead of the truth because they’re miserable. We have nothing to do with that!!! Bless up!!”
The rumours, which began in late July, cited a gossip YouTube channel as the source of claims that Beatz had been unfaithful, leading to Keys filing for divorce.
The couple, who married on July 31, 2010, share two children, sons Egypt, 14, and Genesis, 10. Swizz Beatz is also a father to three other children from previous relationships.
