In a powerful celebration of Nigeria’s youngest citizens, Quramo Publishing transformed Children’s Day into a platform for their voices at its QBook Café.
The special edition of “Voices of Tomorrow” showcased the extraordinary talent of Nigerian students through an essay competition that left those in attendance inspired and even hopeful.
The competition, themed “A Brave New World,” also the central theme for QFest 2025: Quramo Festival of Words, challenged students to envision and articulate the world they want to inherit and shape. The response exceeded all expectations, with participants delivering essays that combined remarkable clarity, boundless imagination and unwavering conviction.
What made this event particularly special was the performative element. Students didn’t just submit their written work; they brought their visions to life through powerful oral presentations that captivated the engaged audience at QBook Café.
The competition crowned four outstanding winners who demonstrated exceptional insight and expression. Princess Egwuatu and Bammeke Maria from Holy Child College, Ikoyi, claimed the coveted first and second positions, respectively. Vernice Itamah and Hadassah Ezeh from Reeds School secured third and fourth place, each leaving lasting impressions with their thoughtful perspectives on the future.
The event reinforced Quramo’s core philosophy that children aren’t merely tomorrow’s leaders waiting in the wings, they are today’s powerful storytellers with vital contributions to make right now. By providing both microphone and pen to these young voices, the organisation demonstrated its commitment to amplifying youth perspectives in national conversations.
The students’ compelling words served as a reminder that the future isn’t something adults simply construct for the next generation. Instead, it’s a collaborative effort that must include young voices as active participants and co-creators.
As these remarkable young minds continue developing their vision of “A Brave New World,” Nigeria can look forward to the transformative contributions they’ll undoubtedly make in shaping the nation’s destiny.
