Fans of the cult hit “The Accountant” are gearing up for the sequel, hitting theatres this Friday, April 25, and star Cynthia Addai-Robinson is spilling some behind-the-scenes secrets. In an interview with hellomagazine.com, Addai-Robinson, who plays analyst Mary Beth, revealed a surprising aspect of working with the seemingly serious Ben Affleck. Despite not sharing screen time in the first film, the actress found Affleck to possess a “director’s mind” on set and a surprisingly pleasant demeanor, a far cry from his often-memed “glum” public persona.
Addai-Robinson enthusiastically described her scenes with Affleck and co-star Jon Bernthal as a “ticket and popcorn to the show,” praising their captivating chemistry and the sequel’s unexpected humour. She noted that the comedic moments arise naturally from the “uncomfortable dynamic” between the characters, rather than forced jokes. Having a much larger role in “The Accountant 2,” Addai-Robinson expressed excitement about her character’s evolution and the opportunity to delve deeper into the story.
Looking ahead, she’s also keen on the possibility of a third film or even a TV series, hinting that there’s definitely “more story to be told.”
