The YA Book Prize 2025 opens for submissions

The YA Book Prize 2025 is officially open for submissions, inviting publishers to showcase the best in young adult fiction.

Launched in 2014 by The Bookseller in partnership with the Edinburgh International Book Festival, the prize celebrates outstanding novels for teenagers and young adults, aiming to inspire a love of reading among teens.

Last year’s winner, Lex Croucher’s Gwen & Art Are Not In Love, charmed judges with its medieval comedy-drama and heartfelt themes of self-acceptance and friendship. This year, the competition promises to spotlight another exceptional story, with a shortlist announced in June 2025 and the winner revealed at a live ceremony during the Edinburgh International Book Festival in August.

A panel of expert and teenage judges will select the winning book based on its quality and appeal to young readers. Publishers can submit entries online now, with the deadline fast approaching.
