‘Game of Thrones’ creator’s fantasy epic ‘In the Lost Lands’ unveils haunting 1st look

Game of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin’s latest adaptation is ready to set the big screen ablaze in a world consumed by the flames of an ancient war, per digitalspy.com. The first trailer for “In the Lost Lands” has dropped, showcasing an ambitious dark fantasy starring Milla Jovovich and Dave Bautista in a demon-filled wasteland.

The film follows Gray Alys (Jovovich), a feared sorceress commissioned by a mysterious queen to venture into the ghostly wilderness known as the Lost Lands. Accompanied by her reluctant guide Boyce (Bautista), she embarks on a perilous quest for an ancient power that could change the fate of their world.

The trailer opens with Bautista’s character engaged in an intense gunfight, setting the tone for what appears to be a unique blend of fantasy and action. “The world you know is gone,” Boyce’s voice echoes over scenes of desolate landscapes and supernatural encounters. “All that’s left now are the Lost Lands.”

Director Paul W.S. Anderson, known for the Resident Evil franchise, brings his signature style to the project, packing the preview with striking visuals including a memorable two-headed snake and spectacular magical confrontations. The footage suggests a darker take on fantasy, with one ominous figure declaring, “She has become a symbol of their defiance. This woman needs to die.”

The project, which has been in development since 2015 when Jovovich was first attached, also features supporting performances from Arly Jover, Amara Okereke, Fraser James and Deirdre Mullins. The film represents another high-profile adaptation of Martin’s work, following the massive success of HBO’s Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon.

“In the Lost Lands” is scheduled to premiere in US theatres on March 7, 2025, with international release dates to be announced.
