SZA has revealed that her highly anticipated album ‘Lana’ could hit streaming platforms this fall.The “Kill Bill” hitmaker shared the news in a candid interview with British Vogue, where she also discussed plans for a deluxe edition of her previous album ‘SOS.’
The new project, which includes the live-debuted track “PSA,” represents a departure from her earlier work, with SZA describing it as coming from “a more possible place versus a more angsty place.” The album’s potential cover art was first teased on social media in December 2023.
However, the announcement comes at a complex time for the artist, who recently announced a hiatus from live performances. In a striking moment of vulnerability, SZA opened up about her struggles with fame and anxiety, questioning her place in the music industry. “Maybe I’m just not meant to be famous,” she admitted, describing the daily challenges of managing her public persona.
Despite these personal battles, ‘Lana’ promises to showcase a more evolved artist who’s moving beyond past trauma. “I’m not identifying with my brokenness anymore,” SZA explained, suggesting that fans can expect a lighter, more mature sound in her upcoming work.
