Members of the entourage supporting country-pop superstar Shania Twain found themselves in a harrowing situation today as their tour bus and a truck transporting crew members were caught in treacherous conditions on a highway between Winnipeg and Saskatoon. According to a statement released by Maverick Management, the team responsible for Shania Twain’s Queen of Me tour, multiple vehicles encountered “dangerous driving conditions due to inclement weather.” The hazardous conditions resulted in several members of the production crew requiring medical attention. Those in need were swiftly transported to nearby hospitals.
Details regarding the exact number of crew members involved in the accident and the extent of their injuries remain unclear. Maverick Management expressed their gratitude to the emergency services teams for their quick response and ongoing support, while also asking for patience as they care for their touring family.
Shania Twain was not present with the crew during the incident, as she was en route to Saskatoon for a concert scheduled for Thursday at the SaskTel Centre. Images from the scene, published by Canadian news network CP24, show the tour bus overturned on its side, with debris scattered on the icy roadway.
The Saskatchewan Health Authority reported that two individuals were transferred to a hospital in Regina, while others were discharged following medical evaluation.
Shania Twain’s Queen of Me tour is in support of her latest studio album, “Queen of Me,” which made its debut in February 2023 and peaked at No. 10 on the Billboard 200 chart. The Grammy Award-winning artist is currently preparing for her upcoming Las Vegas residency, titled “Shania Twain: COME ON OVER – The Las Vegas Residency – All The Hits!” This residency is scheduled for May, August, September, November, and December 2024 at the 7,000-seat Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.
Despite this unfortunate incident, Shania Twain’s current tour is set to conclude on November 14, 2023, with a performance at Vancouver’s Rogers Arena.
