Kunle Afolayan, CEO of Golden Effects pictures was presented with a special recognition award last night by the CANON team at IBC 2019 in Amsterdam based on the success of the collaboration with the film MOKALIK.
“I will like to say thank you to the entire team of Canon for inviting me to IBC, and for seeing reasons to partner with Golden Effects Pictures and for the award”, Kunle stated.
The movie ‘Mokalik’, which recently became a Netflix feature, was released on the 31st of May 2019 and follows the career of an 11-year-old boy, Ponmile, from the middle-class suburbs who spends the day as a lowly apprentice at a mechanic workshop in order to view life from the other side of the tracks. When his father arrives to take him home; Ponmile has to make up his mind if he wants to return to school or take on his apprenticeship full time.
