Zoe Saldaña reveals age she’ll likely be at end of Avatar film series

Zoe Saldaña, the iconic star behind Avatar’s Neytiri, has revealed she’ll be 54 years old by the time the epic sci-fi franchise concludes, per unilad.com. The actress, who first signed on to James Cameron’s groundbreaking series at 28, will have dedicated a staggering 26 years to the Avatar universe—a fact that has left fans in awe.

Saldaña, known for her roles in Star Trek and Guardians of the Galaxy, reflected on her journey during an interview with Deadline’s The Actor’s Side. “I was 28 when I signed on and will be 54 when we finish,” she shared, highlighting the immense time commitment the franchise has demanded.

The first Avatar film, released in 2009, became the highest-grossing movie of all time, with fans waiting 13 years for its sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water, which debuted in 2022. The third installment is slated for December 19, 2025, with the fourth and fifth films expected in 2029 and 2031, respectively.

Fans quickly took to social media to express their amazement. One Instagram user wrote, “It’s her biggest earning and very well deserved. Amazing movies,” while another joked, “That ‘blue’ my mind.” A third quipped, “Well, I guess we know her character doesn’t die… not until the last movie at least.”

Producer John Landau confirmed that parts of Avatar 4 have already been filmed to accommodate the aging of younger cast members, ensuring continuity across the series.

With over two decades of dedication, Saldaña’s legacy in the Avatar universe is set to be as enduring as the films themselves.
