Wura Samba unveils Afro-folklore album ‘Ajo Rebirth’

Master percussionist, singer and songwriter Abiodun Oke, popularly known as Wura Samba, has once again pushed the boundaries of Afro-folklore music with the release of his highly anticipated third album, Ajo Rebirth

Released on February 28 worldwide by Sambabe Entertainment / Ajazco Records (digitally and physically), the nine-track live-recorded album is a vibrant celebration of Yoruba culture, infused with cosmopolitan influences that promise to captivate global audiences.  

Wura Samba, the leader of a nine-piece Afro drumming and percussion band, has long been celebrated for his electrifying energy and Yoruba-inspired rhythms. With Ajo Rebirth, he solidifies his position as a trailblazer in contemporary Afro-fusion, delivering an album that is as much a cultural statement as it is a musical masterpiece. The album’s title, which translates to “Journey Rebirth,” reflects Wura Samba’s artistic evolution and his commitment to reimagining traditional sounds for a modern era.

The first single from the album, “Iba Eledua” along with remixes by renowned house and electro music producers Razoof and Antonio Blakstad, is set to be released on March 21.
