Sandra Bullock has announced that she is taking a break from acting for the time being, and it seems like she’s been thinking about it for a while now, according to Digital Spy.
The outlet reports that Bullock is returning to the big screen later this month in The Lost City, a comedic romp in which she stars alongside Channing Tatum, Daniel Radcliffe and Brad Pitt.
“Right now, work in front of the camera needs to take a pause,” she said on CBS News Sunday Morning, the report adds.
“I don’t know (for how long), I don’t know. Until I don’t feel like I feel now when I’m in front of a camera. I want to be at home. I’m not doing anyone any favours, who’s investing in a project if I’m saying, ‘I just want to be at home’.
“I was always running, I was always running to the next thing. I just want to be present, and responsible for one thing.”
When asked to clarify how long she thought the hiatus may last, she reiterated: “I don’t know what a while is. I don’t know what that is.”
Although the actress is taking a break from performing, The Lost City isn’t the last new film we’ll be seeing her in, as she filmed the high-octane action-comedy Bullet Train last year. The film stars Bullock and Pitt, as well as Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry and Joey King.
Bullock also recently starred in the thriller The Unforgivable for Netflix, which dropped at the end of last year. The streaming service revealed that it had become one of their 10 most popular films of all time, making her the first person to be in the top 10 twice (the other time was, of course, Bird Box).
