Whoopi Goldberg has delivered a stinging rebuke to Elon Musk after the tech mogul criticised the rumoured casting of Lupita Nyong’o in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming epic, “The Odyssey,” per film-news.co.uk.
The controversy erupted earlier this week when Musk amplified online backlash regarding the Oscar winner’s alleged role as Helen of Troy. Musk claimed that Nolan had “lost his integrity” by deviating from Homer’s original description of the character as fair-skinned and blonde.

Addressing the comments on The View, Goldberg defended the 12 Years a Slave star’s beauty and talent.
“Lupita is considered one of the world’s most beautiful women,” Goldberg remarked. “So I’m not sure what you’re trying to say.”
Directly addressing the Tesla CEO, she suggested he “look in a mirror” before commenting on others’ appearances. “Don’t bother to try to clown me, baby—I know what I look like,” she added. “There are many things I want to say to you that are rude and awful… but know that I’m thinking it!”
While Nyong’o joined the star-studded production in late 2024, her specific role remains unconfirmed. She joins a massive ensemble including Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Robert Pattinson.
The Odyssey is scheduled for theatrical release on July 17.
