Wale Turner balances ambition & gratitude on new “Crossroads” EP

Nigerian rapper Wale Turner has released his latest EP, Crossroads, a six-track project that showcases the artist’s multilingual prowess and introspective storytelling.

Born Turner Omowaleola, the rapper first gained widespread attention in 2016 through viral Instagram freestyles that demonstrated his sharp lyricism and ability to seamlessly switch between Yoruba, English and French. Since then, he has established himself as a respected figure in Afro-hip-hop, building a catalogue that blends street credibility with thoughtful narratives.

Crossroads reflects the artist’s current state of mind, capturing the tension between ambition and gratitude, celebration and reflection. The EP explores themes of success, faith, lifestyle and the challenge of personal growth without compromising one’s identity.

The project opens with “Ogo” and “La Liga,” tracks centred on gratitude and progression, before shifting into more playful territory with “Innit,” “Gbemilo,” and “MotM,” which highlight Turner’s confidence and party-ready energy. “Excusez Moi” adds a romantic dimension to the collection.

The songs feel like moments from different sides of the artist’s life, described as a snapshot of someone at a pivotal juncture, aware of his journey thus far and clear about his future direction.

The EP is available to stream on all major platforms.
