Tyla’s “Dynamite” collabo with Wizkid 3 years in the making

Tyla recently revealed that her highly anticipated collaboration with Wizkid, “Dynamite,” took a painstaking three years to release, per music-news.com. The singer shared her personal struggle and fervent prayers for the song to see the light of day.

Tyla recounted the exciting early days of her career when she first linked up with Wizkid. “At the time, I was very new. Like, a lot of people didn’t know me, so I didn’t expect him to be down for a session,” she told Capital XTRA Breakfast hosts Robert Bruce and Shayna Marie. To her delight, Wizkid was receptive and even liked some of her existing material, leading to the creation of “Dynamite.”

However, the track remained an unfinished demo for a surprising three years. Tyla admitted to constantly playing and dancing to the unreleased song in her room, “just praying to God. Like, ‘God, one day the song is going to come out,’ and it’s coming out!”

When asked about the extensive delay, Tyla attributed it to busy schedules and the natural flow of the music industry. “We, like, just didn’t end up finishing it. Like, we would talk about here and there, but it just didn’t happen,” she explained. “We both are very busy, and we have a lot of things that we are doing. So, I just feel like this is the right time for it, you know? We want to party, you know? So, yeah.”
