When Toni Kan, Dami Ajayi and Peju Akande conceived of thelagosreview.ng in 2019, the mandate was clear; to provide the first critical engagement with books, movies, music, plays, art, etc and in so doing help shape opinion, excite conversation, and push engagement through analytical and critical rigour.
Since 2019, we have established ourselves as the pre-eminent literary magazine out of Africa; publishing literary/cultural news on a daily basis and distributing a weekly (Sunday morning) newsletter which goes to over 12,000 subscribers with monthly traffic north of 70,000.
We have covered top festivals, interviewed the leading writers/artists/filmmakers/tastemakers, reviewed the most important books/music/movies/art/plays and published important wordsmiths, thinkers, and aesthetes of the day.
We thank our co-founders, contributors, collaborators, advisors, funders and readers.
Onward!
