Tems, global music sensation and two-time Grammy winner, is set to revolutionise the music industry with the launch of “The Leading Vibe Initiative,” per billboard.com.This groundbreaking programme, designed to nurture and empower young women in music, will kick off in Lagos, Nigeria, in August 2025.
The initiative, announced by Billboard on Wednesday, July 2nd, aims to provide a vital platform for aspiring female artistes, songwriters, producers and music professionals. Tems, herself a celebrated singer, songwriter and entrepreneur, expressed her commitment to creating opportunities where previously there were none.
“My goal with the Leading Vibe Initiative is to help discover and support talented young women who have the potential to redefine the industry,” Tems stated. “By providing access, tools, and opportunity, we’re creating space for them to find their voices, step into their power and shape the future of music across the continent and globally.”
The inaugural two-day seminar, scheduled for August 8 and 9, will host 15 to 20 carefully selected participants. The programme boasts a comprehensive curriculum, including training sessions on songwriting and music production, studio sessions, insightful panel discussions with industry executives and creatives, and tutorials on various facets of the music business. Participants will also receive essential production software and resources.
In a significant move to bolster the initiative, Tems has partnered with Native Instruments, a leading music technology company, which will provide crucial technology and support. Tems has also joined Native Instruments’ prestigious artiste board, a collective that includes music luminaries such as Alicia Keys and Jacob Collier, further solidifying the programme’s credibility and reach.
Applications for “The Leading Vibe Initiative” are open until July 13th, inviting passionate young women in Nigeria to seize this transformative opportunity. While the programme begins in Lagos, Tems has ambitious plans for future expansion to other African cities.
