Disney has officially found its Rapunzel and Flynn Rider for the highly anticipated live-action reimagining of Tangled, per upi.com.
The studio confirmed on Wednesday via X that Teagan Croft, known for her role in Titans, and Milo Manheim, star of School Spirits, will lead the cast.
The production will be helmed by director Michael Gracey, the filmmaker behind The Greatest Showman and the Robbie Williams biopic Better Man. Unlike many recent Disney debuts, the studio specified that the film is “coming only to theatres,” signalling a major cinematic push for the project.
The original 2010 animated hit famously featured Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi. The duo voiced the iconic characters across a decade of content, including the 2012 short Tangled Ever After and the popular television spin-off Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure.
While a release date has yet to be announced, the casting of Croft and Manheim marks the first major milestone for the live-action adaptation of the Brothers Grimm-inspired tale.
