Taylor Swift donates $1m to American Heart Association in tribute to her dad

Taylor Swift has pledged a $1 million donation to the American Heart Association (AHA) as a tribute to her father following his recent cardiac surgery, according to tmz.com.

The AHA confirmed the seven-figure gift on Tuesday, noting that the singer made the contribution in honour of Scott Swift.

Earlier this year, Taylor spoke openly about her father’s health challenges, which included a quintuple bypass surgery this summer. Both Taylor and her brother, Austin, remained by their father’s side throughout his procedure and subsequent recovery.

A spokesperson for the AHA stated that the significant donation will “accelerate efforts to prevent and treat heart disease,” which remains a leading cause of death globally.

The funds are earmarked for several key areas, including scientific research that will advance new medical breakthroughs, prevention and treatment that enhances protocols for cardiac care, and community access expanding life-saving healthcare resources to underserved populations.

This act of seasonal generosity follows a year of personal milestones for the Swift family, providing a hopeful update on Scott Swift’s health while supporting a cause that affects millions.
