Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs under federal investigation

Sean “Diddy” Combs is currently a subject in a federal criminal investigation, according to sources familiar with his ongoing legal issues. Federal authorities in the Southern District of New York notified Combs’ legal team last week, per nbcnews.com. A federal grand jury is reportedly reviewing evidence, though no charges are imminent.

Neither the US Attorney’s Office nor Combs’ lawyers have commented on the matter. Legal experts clarify that being a “subject” in an investigation indicates involvement but not necessarily impending charges.

This development follows law enforcement raids on Combs’ Los Angeles and Miami homes three months ago. In May, Combs issued a public apology after a video surfaced showing him assaulting his then-girlfriend, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, in 2016. Despite initially denying Ventura’s claims of assault and sex trafficking, Combs settled a federal lawsuit with her the day after it was filed.

Ventura’s attorney, Meredith Firetog, criticized Combs’ delayed apology, stating it was motivated by desperation after his denials were disproven. Ventura’s legal team did not comment on whether she is involved in the grand jury proceedings.

Combs faces various allegations in multiple civil lawsuits, including a recent sex trafficking claim by a former adult film star. Combs’ attorney, Jonathan Davis, denies all allegations, asserting Combs’ innocence and confidence in the judicial process.
