Sabrina Carpenter has secured the biggest opening week of 2025 for an international artiste in the UK as her latest album, Man’s Best Friend, debuts at No. 1 on the Official Albums Chart, per music-news.com. The seventh studio album from the American singer-songwriter shifted a remarkable 85,500 units in its first seven days, eclipsing the previous 2025 best for an international act held by Lady Gaga’s MAYHEM, which managed 55,500 units.
While Carpenter claims the international record, Sam Fender still holds the overall 2025 UK record, with his album People Watching moving 107,000 units in its opening week.
The success of Man’s Best Friend isn’t the only win for Carpenter this week. Two of her other albums also feature in the Top 40, with Short n’ Sweet, the year’s biggest album so far, climbing to No. 8, and her 2023 LP emails i can’t send reaching a new peak at No. 21.
Elsewhere in the charts, Irish artist CMAT celebrates her highest-charting album to date with EURO-COUNTRY debuting at No. 2. The new album from the Dublin-born singer also topped the Official Record Store Chart, a testament to its popularity in independent shops. Bryan Adams and The Hives also landed new albums in the Top 10, while Nova Twins returned to the Top 30.
