RUKMANI explores love as a choice & quiet strength in ‘From Softie to You (Dey There)’

RUKMANI has unveiled her latest single, “From Softie to You (Dey There),” a tender yet powerful meditation on love as an act of unwavering commitment.

According to a ONErpm statement, the track, her first release of the year, blends soulful melodies with poignant lyricism, framing devotion as a quiet, everyday decision rather than grand gestures.

Born in Port Harcourt and now based in Lagos, the emerging Indie Afro-Soul artiste’s musical journey began in a church choir at just six years old. Music became her sanctuary, helping her navigate life’s challenges. Now, she transforms those experiences into art, crafting songs that resonate deeply with listeners.

“From Softie to You (Dey There)” testifies to love’s quiet strength. Lines like “Let me water you from my sweat” and the recurring vow “I go dey there” (Pidgin for “I’ll be there”) underscore the song’s central theme: showing up for loved ones, not for praise, but out of genuine care.

In an era of fleeting connections, RUKMANI’s lyrics serve as a blueprint for lasting relationships.

“Love isn’t just a feeling—it’s an action, a choice, and sometimes a quiet rebellion against indifference,” RUKMANI explains. The track’s soothing yet stirring arrangement mirrors this sentiment, blending Afro-soul rhythms with emotive vocals.

With an EP and multiple singles already showcasing her artistry, “From Softie to You (Dey There)” further establishes RUKMANI as a compelling voice in contemporary soul music.

The song is now available for streaming on all major platforms and fans can follow RUKMANI on Instagram
