Rowlene’s soulful plea gets an Afrohouse groove in “Don’t Give Up On Me (Remix)”

Rowlene has dropped the Afrohouse remix of her vulnerable track, “Don’t Give Up on Me,” turning heartache into a dance floor anthem. Known for her intimate yet universal songs since her 2015 debut single “Imposter,” the South African singer-songwriter’s voice consistently delivers emotion with quiet strength.

The original track, featured on her EP Moments After, is about holding on through difficulty. For the remix, she collaborated with Tashinga Mutakwa and Minenhle Ndlazi.

The production pulses with deep Afrohouse drums, warm synths and layered vocals, resulting in a sound that is both grounding and euphoric. Tashinga and Minenhle carefully shape the track, blending house basslines with African rhythmic patterns. While Rowlene’s central plea remains, “Hold on tighter, don’t let go, don’t give up on me,” the new version wraps it in percussive energy and soulful textures.

Instead of softening the song’s original honesty, the remix amplifies it through movement, transforming a quiet request into a shared, urgent and danceable moment of hope.

The “Don’t Give Up On Me (Remix)” is described as music for when you need to feel held and when you need to move to keep believing.
