Ron Cephas Jones passes away at 66

Emmy-winning actor Ron Cephas Jones, renowned for his This Is Us role as William Hill, passed away at 66 due to a pulmonary issue. 

His career spanned a spectrum of successes, from his Tony-nominated Broadway performance in Clyde’s to his acclaimed acting on This Is Us, where he earned two Emmys. Jones shared a unique distinction with his daughter Jasmine, as they became the first father-daughter duo to win Emmys in the same year.

Despite battling chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, Jones underwent a successful double lung transplant and made a remarkable recovery. His dedication to his craft remained unwavering, and he expressed that performing was an essential part of his life, even more important than the fear of death.

Jones made impactful contributions to various TV shows and films, including Mr. Robot, Luke Cage, and Glass Chin. He was cast in Genius: MLK/X, playing Elijah Muhammad, a role that showcased his range and talent.

Throughout his journey, Jones found solace and triumph on the stage and screen, leaving an indelible mark on the world of entertainment. His legacy lives on through his exceptional performances and the memories he created for those fortunate enough to know him.
