Ray J calls for industry unity in wake of Diddy’s arrest

In a recent interview with NewsNation anchor Chris Cuomo, R&B artiste and reality TV personality Ray J addressed the shock waves rippling through the music industry following the arrest of hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, per complex.com

While urging the industry to unite and learn from past mistakes, Ray J underscored the need for accountability.

“It’s a different time in this game,” Ray J stated, acknowledging the impact of recent events on the music community. He stressed the importance of recognising errors made by industry mentors while advocating for a balanced approach: “We have to hold everyone accountable for what they’ve done, but I don’t think this is a time to tear anybody down.”

The artiste called for the creation of a “roadmap for the future of the industry,” emphasising unity as the key to moving forward positively. Ray J noted that many in the industry are still processing the news, explaining the relative silence from insiders.

Regarding allegations of Diddy’s infamous “Freak Off” parties, Ray J claimed no prior knowledge of such events, stating, “We’ve never seen the stuff that’s being said… I’ve never been in rooms that people are talking about, and I never knew they existed.”

While Ray J urged reflection rather than criticism, it’s worth noting his stance has evolved since May when he strongly condemned Diddy’s alleged assault on Cassie, calling it “demonic.”
