Atlanta-based rapper Rich Homie Quan has passed away at the age of 34, leaving the hip-hop community reeling.

Born Dequantes Devontay Lamar on October 4, 1989, Rich Homie Quan rose to prominence in the 2010s with his unique blend of melodic flow and catchy hooks. He became a fixture in the trap music scene, collaborating with industry heavyweights such as Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz, and Young Thug.
Quan’s breakthrough came with the release of his highest-charting solo single, “Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh),” in 2015. He also gained widespread recognition for his feature on YG’s “My N—a,” which peaked at No. 19 on the Billboard Hot 100.
