Rapper Polo G was arrested in Los Angeles after police conducted a search of his home in Chatsworth, California.
According to a People report, the LAPD detained four robbery suspects, including Polo G, at his residence. The arrest took place around 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday. The police arrived with a search warrant and apprehended the suspects, including Polo G, whose real name is Taurus Bartlett.
Polo G’s lawyer, Bradford Cohen, stated that the arrest was related to verifying Polo G’s criminal record due to the alleged discovery of a firearm in his home. Cohen emphasized that Polo G has no felony convictions, and any previous charges have been dismissed and are public record. Cohen and his legal partner Zoe Aron were denied access to their client during his detention, which they considered an illegal and unethical practice.
Polo G, known for his hit “Rapstar,” was previously arrested in Miami in June 2021, just after the release of his album Hall of Fame. He faced charges including battery of a police officer, threatening a public servant, and resisting arrest. Polo G’s mother, Stacia Mac, took to Twitter to assert that the charges stemmed from police contact during a traffic stop, and wouldn’t have occurred had the police not engaged with her son.
The incident has raised questions about the police’s actions and their treatment of Polo G during the arrest.
