Quramo Publishing has officially announced the top 20 shortlist for the latest edition of the Quramo Writers’ Prize (QWP).
The announcement, made by Tomiwa Aj-Williams on behalf of Quramo, celebrates a diverse group of emerging authors whose works were selected from a vast number of submissions.
The annual prize, founded by Quramo Publishing, aims to discover and support new African literary talent by providing a platform for unpublished writers. The judges, after a rigorous selection process, highlighted the “talent, heart, and unforgettable voices” present in this year’s submissions. This shortlist represents a crucial step in the journey for these 20 writers, who are now closer to receiving the prestigious prize, which includes a cash award and a publishing deal.
In the same statement, Quramo recommended “From City to Megacity,” a new book by HRM Oba Abdulliwasiu, Omogbolahan Lawal, Abisogun II, the Oniru of Iru Kingdom. Described as a memoir of Lagos, the book offers a deep dive into the city’s transformation and is available at the QBook Café in Victoria Island. The publishing house extended gratitude to all participants for their contributions, affirming their importance to the literary community.
