Janet Jackson’s multi-platinum album janet, released in a 30th-anniversary edition, has been praised for its wide-ranging mastery of genres, production and depth of material, according to UDiscover Music.
The album, which the outlet says has had reviewers marvelling, has also been described as a masterpiece of lyricism and production, and a stepping stone for female artistes to make bold moves.
The new edition is available in various formats, including a 3LP vinyl configuration, a 2CD edition, and a standard black 2LP version, alongside the album’s digital release.
The package includes seven bonus tracks, such as “And On And On,” “70’s Love Groove,” and “One More Chance,” and there are a variety of alternate mixes from rare, contemporaneous seven-inch singles.
