The Poets in Nigeria (PIN) Initiative has announced an open call for poets to submit their works for the upcoming Lagos Books and Arts Festival (LABAF).
This year’s festival, themed “BREAKOUT: Hope is a Stubborn Thing,” will take place at Freedom Park, Lagos, from November 11-17.
According to a statement by award-winning poet, Eriata Oribhabor, poets are encouraged to submit freshly written poems that explore the festival’s theme and be prepared to perform their works live at the event on November 12 at 5pm.
The deadline for submissions is October 25, and there are no restrictions on the length of the poems. Selected poets will be featured in a special festival brochure, highlighting their contributions to this significant cultural event. The festival celebrates the Soyinka Year, marking the legacy of the iconic playwright and poet, Wole Soyinka.
Interested poets should email their submissions to poetsinnigeria@gmail.com, along with their name, gender, location, brief bio and contact details.
